The Behavioural Foundation ADQ
Built Into Its Graduate Programme
Integrating self-awareness, communication, mindset, and collaboration.
Structured as a single integrated arc from individual foundations to team dynamics.
With Financial Edge, unifying technical financial training with behavioural capability.
The Commitment to Developing the Whole Analyst
ADQ, one of Abu Dhabi’s largest holding companies, was managing a rapidly expanding graduate intake across a diverse, multi-entity corporate environment. The analysts entering the business had strong technical financial foundations. What they lacked were the behavioural and human capabilities required to contribute confidently and collaboratively in fast-paced, high-stakes roles.
Existing approaches relied on linear, information-heavy sessions. ADQ required a methodology grounded in neuroscience and experiential learning, one that shifted mindsets rather than filled notebooks. And critically, it needed to integrate rather than separate technical and human development.
A Fully Integrated Development Journey
Emile Woolf Middle East partnered with Financial Edge to design and deliver a programme that unified technical financial training with behavioural and human capability development. Rather than treating the two as separate tracks, the programme was built as a single integrated journey where each element reinforced the other. The methodology combined 20% experiential and disruptive learning with 80% guided instructional learning, grounded in neuroscience and behaviour change principles.
Module 1: Self-Awareness and Understanding Others
Identity, perception, emotional awareness, empathy, and the foundations of effective working relationships.
Module 2: Communication Skills
Active listening, inquiry, and the communication disciplines that define how analysts show up in meetings, presentations, and stakeholder conversations.
Module 3: Growth Mindset and Emotional Agility
Building the mental frameworks that allow analysts to navigate ambiguity, setbacks, and rapidly shifting priorities without losing effectiveness.
Module 4: Trust, Presence, and Collaboration
The interpersonal skills that determine whether an analyst builds credibility quickly across a complex multi-entity environment.
From Individual Foundations to Team Dynamics
Foundations of Self and Communication
Focus on identity, perception, emotional awareness, empathy, active listening, inquiry, and conflict navigation. Participants begin with themselves before moving outward to how they show up for others.
Growth, Agility, and Collaborative Impact
Emphasis on growth mindset, emotional regulation, resilience, trust-building, psychological safety, and team dynamics. The day moves from the individual to the collective.
Structured Reflection and Application
Each day concluded with facilitated check-ins and check-outs to capture insight, emotional shifts, and workplace commitments. Learning was not left in the room.
THE IMPACT: Stronger Analysts. Faster Contribution. Across the Portfolio.
ADQ graduates entered their analyst roles with stronger self-awareness, communication capability, and collaborative instincts. The programme did not treat behavioural development as an add-on to technical training. It treated it as the foundation on which technical excellence compounds. Analysts were better equipped to contribute confidently across ADQ’s diverse portfolio from the moment they arrived, enabling faster onboarding, stronger peer relationships, and more effective cross-entity collaboration.
